Frequently Asked Questions

Our campaign aims to promote transparency, engage the community, and address key issues affecting our constituents. We believe in a government that listens and acts on the needs of the people. As your representative, I will focus on getting our basic city services back to where they need to be. Our roads are in horrible shape, our snow plan is outdated and needs fixing-throwing more equipment and money is not the 100% fix!!, addressing traffic issues. Our city continues to look dirty and run-down in different areas, and it is time for accountability. I will also prioritize public safety improvements and work to stop wasteful spending. Additionally, I believe it is essential to retain good employees with competitive pay to ensure that our city government is effective and efficient.

You can support our candidacy by volunteering for our campaign, attending events, and spreading the word about our platform. Every effort counts, and together we can make a difference in our community.

Emergency Preparedness, The response to the snow and Ice events recently was horrible, we can AND must reevaluate the snow plan and continue to reevaluate it. Our severe weather sirens go off after the storm is gone leading to dangerous or even potentially deadly consequences. I believe that resilient infrastructure is crucial, and that we must do better to prepare for and respond to emergencies. Fiscal Responsibility, and Urban Planning and Smart Growth affordable housing and homeless and homelessness issues. When it comes to Fiscal Responsibility, I advocate for promoting efficiency and accountability in government spending, and getting back to basic city services. Finally, on Urban Planning and Smart Growth, I seek to balance development with neighborhood preservation, recognizing that there has to be a balance between growth and preservation.  Affordable Housing sustainability:

  • Budgetary Oversight & Allocation: Council At-large members have a direct role in approving the city’s Fiscal Year Budget. We can advocate for increased or dedicated funding for the Affordable Housing Fund (AHF), which subsidizes construction for low-income residents.
  • Zoning Reforms (ZOTAs): Council members vote on Zoning Ordinance Text Amendments (ZOTAs) that directly impact housing supply. For example, recent reforms like the Urban Growth Management ZOTA created density bonuses for developers who include affordable units.
  • Board Appointments: Council at Large Members also participate in the confirmation of members for the Affordable Housing Governing Board, which establishes policies for the AHF and prioritizes housing projects.
  • Land Use Policy: Members can push for policies that utilize underused publicly owned land for affordable housing developments or advocate for “common-sense” infill and redevelopment strategies which I believe we have neglected and I am in support of.

We plan to engage with constituents through social media updates, and community events. Open communication is vital for understanding the needs and concerns of the people we represent.

I believe that public service is a noble calling that requires integrity, dedication, and a commitment to the community. Leadership should be about serving the people and making decisions that benefit the greater good.
